Questions about the IJ4EU grants?
Join our info webinar!
The Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU) fund will host a webinar on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 14:00 CEST to answer questions about the support on offer from Europe’s largest funding programme for cross-border investigative journalism.
On September 2, IJ4EU opened two new calls for investigative journalism projects on transnational subjects in the public interest.
- IJ4EU’s Investigation Support Scheme will provide grants of up to €50,000 to allow journalistic teams of any type — including newsrooms and specialist investigative outlets — to team up across frontiers on ambitious projects.
- IJ4EU’s Freelancer Support Scheme will provide grants of up to €20,000 to cross-border investigative teams made up predominantly of freelance journalists.
- The deadline for applications to both schemes is October 28 at 23:59 CET.
The online info session is organised by the IJ4EU consortium, which exists to channel public and philanthropic money into world-class investigative journalism without fear of editorial interference.
- Date: Monday, September 9
- Time: 14:00 CEST
- Duration: 1 hour
- Language: English
- The webinar will be held via Zoom.
Representatives of the International Press Institute and the European Journalism Centre will give a brief overview of the IJ4EU 2024/25 grants programme and answer questions about the Investigation Support Scheme and Freelancer Support Scheme, respectively.
Representatives of Arena for Journalism in Europe will provide details of free Cross-Border Masterclasses and other forms of support designed to foster collaboration and improve your chances of getting funding.
And the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom will summarise IJ4EU’s enhanced menu of legal support and networking opportunities, including the annual UNCOVERED Conference and IJ4EU Impact Awards.
Keep in mind that you will find further information about both grant schemes here on the IJ4EU website, including on our FAQ page.
That’s not all!
During open calls for proposals, Arena will run public Cross-Border Masterclasses aimed at helping journalists craft work plans for investigations and write stronger grant applications. Arena will also provide “matchmaking assistance” for journalists seeking collaboration partners in other countries.
The next Cross-Border Masterclass will be on September 23 from 14:00 to 16:30 CET. Register for the free event.
