In this workshop organised in partnership with Arena for Journalism in Europe, participants will learn about how to prevent problems that commonly hamper the work of cross-border teams.

We will start by looking at the roles and responsibilities of team members in cross-border investigations including the role of coordinator.

We will discuss common obstacles, such as intercultural communication and conflict in teams and share approaches and possible solutions. Participants in this workshop will learn about Arena’s suite of encrypted, open source tools, and how they can be employed to help with communication and file sharing.

They will also learn about the importance of soft skills within an investigation and how a coordinator can act as confidante, cheerleader and diplomat when the investigation demands.

Finally, we will talk about peer support during investigations, helping participants to feel better supported.

Participation in this event is restricted to current IJ4EU grantees.
